Peter Selwyn, M.D., M.P.H., is Chairman of the Department of Family and Social Medicine, and Director of the Palliative Care Program, at Montefiore Medical Center and Albert Einstein College of Medicine, in the Bronx, New York. He has been a physician and caregiver for people living with HIV/AIDS for over 30 years, as well as providing end-of-life care for patients and families. He facilitates workshops in grief, loss, and healing, for caregivers. He had the privilege to meet and spend time with Gabrielle Roth in 2012, and learned to appreciate the power and beauty of movement in the process of healing through loss. He has become increasingly involved in 5Rhythms@ practice, completing training as a 5Rhythms@ teacher in 2022, and offering 5Rhythms@ classes to health care workers in the Bronx. He is the author of Surviving the Fall: The Personal Journey of an AIDS Doctor.
