Summary[edit]
Description1993-07-03 Tylopilus williamsii Singer & J. García 153521.jpg |
Tylopilus williamsii Singer & J. García Image location: Lake Erling, Lafayette county, Arkansas, USA Found these some time ago and thought they were interesting. 18 years later I yet haven’t been able to put a name on them but they still are interesting. They were growing near the lake among pine, probably Loblolly.
The caps were up to 7.5 cm across. The taste was bitter and the spore print was pinkish.
The stem was basically smooth without any reticulation,
The spores were ~ 7.8-10.1 X 3.9-5.1 microns, elongate to subcylindrical. Q(ave.) = 2.04.
Spores were nearly hyaline in KOH.
