Healers need healing too. Life for healthcare workers and therapists has been nothing short of shattering for the last two years. As professional healers and care providers, it is far too easy to put all our focus and energy into caregiving for everyone else. We can neglect our own needs, desires, and traumas, and forget about our own body, emotions, and nervous system.

This month-long program is designed to heal the healer in a trauma-informed way, and transfuse you with life force. When we activate neuroplasticity in the nervous system, we facilitate self-healing. Together we will engage in gentle PTSD recovery work informed by the traumas of the pandemic, and inclusive of any childhood traumas that may have been reactivated during these trying times.

Over the course of the month, we will be using the self-healing tools Dr. Lissa Rankin collected from around the globe during the ten years she spent studying Indigenous healing, faith and energy healing, and cutting-edge trauma therapies for her book Sacred Medicine. Together we’ll dive deep — like the whales, we watch from the Big Sur cliffs — submerging, and then coming up to the surface for a breath, splashing around, and bonding. Through dance, song, and art, we will bolster our lifeforce through the joy of safe and gentle practices.

You and your fellow healing healers will return home with a toolbox of Sacred Medicine practices to use for your at-home burnout prevention and PTSD recovery. You may also feel inspired to use some of these tools and practices as part of the treatment of your patients and clients.

We’ll explore:

  • The Six Steps To Healing Yourself from Lissa Rankin’s Mind Over Medicine
  • Internal Family Systems (IFS), a trauma healing tool for anyone who identifies as being in recovery from burnout, illness, injury, or trauma
  • Advanced Integrative Therapy (AIT), an energy psychology resource for healing trauma
  • Creativity practices to call forth the inner muse as a healing resource
  • Music, movement, and singing
  • Nature-based gratitude rituals inspired by the Indigenous world views of many traditions

Prerequisites: This program is specially geared for licensed healthcare-related or mental healthcare-related professionals (doctors, therapists, nurses, chiropractors, paramedics, acupuncturists, etc.).
