Bot request (again)[edit]

Raymond 20:32, 7 November 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Du brauchtest ein * : Aus den specs:
[att^=val] Represents an element with the att attribute whose value begins with the prefix "val". If "val" is the empty string then the selector does not represent anything.
[att*=val] Represents an element with the att attribute whose value contains at least one instance of the substring "val". If "val" is the empty string then the selector does not

$('a[title^="File:"]').parent('.mw-watched').parent().parent().parent().parent().css('background', '#66b2e9');

sollte funktionieren--DieBuche (talk) 21:21, 7 November 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Rights filter[edit]

Hi!

After this edit the problem reported here happens again. Do you have any alternative check wich could be used insted of the previous one? Helder 11:33, 14 November 2010 (UTC)

I think somehow connected to the way the functions were declared. Try again now--DieBuche (talk) 12:34, 14 November 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]
It seems to be working. Could you try also to replace the current regex in the section "//When to enable all this" by a simpler test like "is there at least one li list in the page?" (suggested here), so that it can be used everywhere instead of only in those "whitelisted pages"? It is also pending this other suggestion, in case you think it is easy enough to do...
Thanks for your help! =) Helder 18:09, 14 November 2010 (UTC)

I just got the following error:

http://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=MediaWiki:Gadget-rightsfilter.js&action=raw&ctype=text/javascript&283-12

The mentioned line is exactly where the regex is. Maybe there is some scope problem (getParamValue vs window.getParamValue or something like that)? Helder 18:19, 14 November 2010 (UTC)

    Galleries[edit]

    The recent changes to galleries have "broken" the default display, see discussion at the village pump Commons:Village pump#Fixed number of images per row in gallery. The problem is the default width of a gallery is now 4 images, not dependent on the width of the window. I think this is associated with bug 3276. (I tried rving the change to MediaWiki:ResizeGalleries.js to see if that was the cause, but didn't work).

    Could you restore the default behaviour? -- If its you that made the change of course (I'm not sure if its to MediaWiki itself or a local change.--Nilfanion (talk) 10:13, 15 November 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

    Non-file pages using {{Rename}} appearing in "Category:Media renaming requests needing target"[edit]

    Any idea how to stop non-file pages from being placed in "Category:Media renaming requests needing target" when {{Rename}} is used on such pages? The template seems to check for this, but for some reason it is not working. — Cheers, JackLee talk 07:35, 22 November 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

    Also, have a look at the discussion at "Category talk:Media requiring renaming#Filemover backlog". It seems that there are some files requiring renaming that have been missed because the {{Rename}} tag has been incorrectly placed on the file talk page, and thus these files do not show up in "Category:Media requiring renaming". Is it possible to amend the template so that it shows an error message if it has been placed on a file talk page (or make the tool work even if the template is on a file talk page)? Thanks. — Cheers, JackLee talk 07:40, 23 November 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

    Renaming tool quirk[edit]

    Hi. Just wanted to let you know that when an editor tags an image with {{Rename}} without any parameters (that is, no suggested name is stated) and I use the "Move & Replace" tool to rename it from the menu at the top of the screen, the tool does not remove the {{Rename}} tag. — Cheers, JackLee talk 19:51, 21 December 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

    Also, have a look at the file history of "File:Sw2.jpg". When I declined a rename request by clicking on the link, it also removed a {{No permission}} tag. — Cheers, JackLee talk 19:30, 24 December 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

    Image[edit]

    Hi You removed an image of the painting "place de l'opera" by Lucien Genin http://fr.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Lucien_Genin&diff=54158113&oldid=51769766 Can you please restore it? it was confirmed through OTRS that this image is distributed under CC-by-SA by the owner of the rights for Lucien Genin's paintings (website http://laviedartiste.org/). I can have it reconfirmed. It's a pity that when you take a lot of effort to have a painting by a famous painter be distributed under CC, it gets removed like that. Lerichard (talk) 12:52, 8 February 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]

    Do you have a link to the OTRS thread?--DieBuche (talk) 11:38, 11 February 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]
    Hi. Unfortunately, I don't. We've left the email address "viedartisteawd@orange.fr" when we uploaded the picture (this mail address is the same as the one given on the main page of http://viedartiste.org the official website of the association who owns the legal rights of Genin's paintings. This is explained in French at http://laviedartiste.org/artiste.php?id=geninl). If you can restore it it would help me greatly and save me the trouble of finding the image file (not on my PC). I can warn the persons under this mail address that they may have to reconfirm it, and make sure that they find it and reply to it. Would that work? Thank you in advance, Lerichard (talk) 13:09, 13 February 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]
    NB: the association encourages the study and publication of Lucien Genin's works, and as such they would like to publish one of his painting under a "permissive" and "friendly" licence to help websites like Wikipedia presents the author and his work. Lerichard (talk) 13:19, 13 February 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]
    I restored the file for now. Please have la vie d'artiste send their email again to permissions-commons@wikimedia.org , as I couldn't find any email. If we don't receive it in the next 14 days, the file will be deleted again.--DieBuche (talk) 15:13, 13 February 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]

    flickreview[edit]

    I drive my little computer hard. I drive it so hard that my browser fails on uploads of some larger files. These are silent failures. My browser doesn't tell me when it fails to upload.

    When I upload images I found of flickr our upload tools add a {{Flickrreview}} tag. {{Flickrreview}} is smart enough to check images uploaded from flickr, to see if a larger version exists. If so it uploads the largest version. When I know I am driving my little computer hard I upload smaller versions of those flickr files and let the robot upload the largest version.

    That is what I did with File:Fireboat Alki puts on a display in 1950.jpg. I don't know why the robot hasn't uploaded the largest image yet.

    My understanding is that the advantage tht gifs have over jpgs are with images that are largely composed of line drawings. Have I got that right?

    This image is not a line drawing, so won't the jpg version be smaller than the gif version?

    Hi. I noticed File:Vilnius Keynote.jpg, which was uploaded some time ago by Asterysk (talk · contribs), who said "Released under Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike Non-Commercial license" in this old version of the description page. Several days later, you added {{Cc-by-sa}} to the description page. But what the user actually said was that they were releasing it under the "Non-Commercial" CC license, which is not free enough for Commons. Did the user contact you separately? If not, can you delete the image? Thanks. Also, the user's other two uploads are very dubious as far as copyright. Both of them look like publicity shots and are of drastically different quality than File:Vilnius Keynote.jpg. The claim of authorship seems very dubious. --UserB (talk) 04:10, 28 February 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]

However, it seems to be doing other things, with frequently unfortunate results; see File:日-bronze.svg, File:Indian Route 42.svg, File:Nuvola Antarctica flag.svg, File:LocationUSAwithHawaii.svg, File:Lelievlet zeilteken.svg, File:Bandera de Pravia.svg etc.... Imagestack für radiologische Bilder und Ähnliches... (Template und JS)[edit]

    Hallo DieBuche!

    Ich habe gesehen, dass du auch an MediaWiki:Common.js mitarbeitest. Deshalb spreche ich dich an. Ich bin Radiologe und hab bei Commons immer eine Funktion / ein Template vermisst, mit dem man interaktiv durch Bilderstapel blättern kann (Mausrad oder dragging), so wie wir Radiologen das täglich mit unseren Stapeln an Computertomographie- und MRT-Schichten und weiterem Bildmaterial machen. Es gibt in verschiedenen Wikipedias schon ein Template, bei dem man mit Klicks auf Pfeiltasten blättern kann so z.B. in der deutschen WP die de:Vorlage:Scroll Gallery. Ich hab jetzt mal für Commons in Anlehnung daran was gebastelt, was auch ganz gut funktioniert. Kann eben auch mit dem Mausrad umgehen und das Dragging geht auch. Nimmt jquery her und ein Modul für das Mausrad, das auch unter einer freien Lizenz verfügbar ist. Das Ergebnis hab ich in das Template:Imagestack gepackt. Der Name erschien mir geeigneter. Braucht natürlich JS und kann im Moment so von jedem in sein eigenes User:Hellerhoff/common.js eingbaut werden.

    Ich weiß nicht, ob du Lust hast, dir das mal anzuschauen? Beispiele für die Verwendung sind in der Doku enthalten. Ich könnte mir vorstellen, dass man (nach einem Feinschliff...) das Ganze in die allgemeine MediaWiki:Common.js miteinbaut, wie das auch bei den oben genannten WPs der Fall ist.

    Was denkst du darüber? Oder gibt es da einen besseren Ansprechpartner?

    Viele Grüße --Hellerhoff (talk) 16:17, 27 April 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]

    Funktioniert ja schon prima! Du nutzt aber noch nicht das ganze potential von jQuery;

    statt

     var Warning = document.getElementById("ImageStack_JS_required");
     while (Warning) {
       Warning.style["display"] = "none";  // Warnhinweis verstecken.
       Warning.id = "ImageStack-hidden";
       Warning = document.getElementById("ImageStack_JS_required");
     }

    reiht zum Beispiel

    $("#ImageStack_JS_required").hide();

    Wenn du Elemente kreierst, kannst du sowas machen:

     var image = $('<img>', {
     	width  : 23,
     	height : 23,
      	a : '#',
     	id     : imageId

    Ansonsten wärs vielleicht gut aufs Commons:Administrators'_noticeboard zu schreiben, und falls niemand laut protestiert packe ichs auch in die common.js --DieBuche (talk) 19:38, 30 April 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]

    Hallo Buche, bitte - wenn Du es in commons.js einbaust - füge eine Option hinzu, mit der das Laden dieser Scripts verhindert werden kann - und nicht erst, im Script-code der eigentlichen Scripts (wie es bei AjaxQuickDelete der Fall ist). Momentan lädt mein Browser mindestens 30 Dateien, die Scripte enthalten - das müssen nicht noch mehr werden.
    Ansonsten hört sich die Idee vielversprechend an, Hellerhoff. Nur wenn man gerade "patrolled", braucht man ganz andere Dinge (und vor allen Dingen schnell ladende Seiten), als ein "normaler Besucher". Ich hoffe die Einmischung sei mir hier verziehen. Danke. -- RE rillke questions? 20:21, 1 May 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]
    Gut das du drauf hingewiesen hast, ajaxquickdelete und ein anderes Script werden jetzt nicht mehr geladen, wenn nicht gewollt.
    Hallo zusammen! Danke erstmal für das Ansehen. Ich bin -wie gesagt- allerdings in erster Linie Radiologe und nur Gelengenheitsprogrammierer. Deshalb für jeden Vorschlag der Verbesserung dankbar. Hab auch überhaupt kein Problem damit, wenn jemand, der routinierter mit JS und jquery ist, das Ganze noch mal überarbeitet. Werde aber auch noch mal sehen, was sich verbessern läßt. Grundsätzlich finde ich auch, dass die commons.js nicht überladen werden sollte. Viele Grüße! --Hellerhoff (talk) 07:27, 2 May 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]
    Ok, ich bastel mal in den nächsten Tagen dran rum. Hab eine Idee, wie man es anstellen könnte das Script nicht ständig zu laden, mal schauen. --DieBuche (talk) 09:57, 2 May 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]
    Ist jetzt in common.js :) --DieBuche (talk) 13:33, 12 May 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]
    Hallo DieBuche! Hab gesehen, dass Du das Ganze noch mal verschlankt hast. Leider geht bei mir jetzt aber das Ziehen mit der linken Maustaste nicht mehr... und noch was: Ich könnte mir vorstellen, dass das MouseWheel-Teil auch an anderer Stelle noch mal gebraucht werden kann. Sollte man das nicht separat lassen? Kann man aber natürlich immer noch auslagern, wenn es soweit ist. Aber erstmal vielen Dank und beste Grüße! --Hellerhoff (talk) 14:02, 12 May 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]
    Den Fehler habe ich nicht das erste Mal gemacht... Bei events wird in Safari/Chrome das event object implizit mitgegeben, beim Firefox muss an es als Funktionsargument haben. Ich hatte das mousewheel ding mit rein getan, da es ein HTTP-request weniger ist. Ich würd sagen man trennt sobald jemand anderes es braucht. --DieBuche (talk) 14:21, 12 May 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]
    Wunderbar :-) Danke nochmal für Deine Unterstützung! --Hellerhoff (talk) 14:29, 12 May 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]

    Hallo DieBuche! Ich habe festgestellt, dass das Durchblättern mit dem Mausrad seit einiger Zeit nicht mehr geht (z. B. hier). Ich nutze inzwischen Firefox 11.0. Liegt das daran, oder hast du da noch was verändert? Das Klicken und Ziehen geht weiterhin problemlos. Viele Grüße! --Hellerhoff (talk) 15:24, 24 March 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]

    Das Mousewheel-PlugIn hat ein Update gebraucht und es ist besser es vor Ausführung des restlichen Codes zu laden. Hoffentlich hält es jetzt eine Weile. Geht's jetzt wieder? Grüße (und ich wäre natürlich froh, wenn sich DieBuche auch mal wieder sehen lassen würde :-) -- RE rillke questions? 14:14, 25 March 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]
    Ja. geht wieder. Herzlichen Dank! Das Ganze ist ja jetzt als Gadget realisiert. Kann man mit einem Satz erklären was sich dadurch geändert hat? Viele Grüße! --Hellerhoff (talk) 15:26, 25 March 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]
    Aus den JavaScript Dateien wird nun nur noch der Programmcode geladen (Kommentare, Leerzeichen werden entfernt); durch die Aufteilung auf 2 Gadgets wird die Möglichkeit eröffnet, das jQuery-Plugin auch in anderm Code zu nutzen, ohne es doppelt zu laden. Da mir gefallen hat, dass es nur bei Vorhandensein der Vorlage geladen wird, habe ich das Gadget von der Benutzeroberfläche versteckt und lasse es weiterhin über die Common.js bei Bedarf laden. -- RE rillke questions? 17:31, 25 March 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]
    Alles klar. Danke. Gefällt mir gut so. --Hellerhoff (talk) 18:00, 25 March 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]
    File:English_language.svg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

    If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

    Jetzt auch noch mehr Arbeit - AjaxMassDelete.js[edit]

    Hallo, ich hätte auch noch ein bisschen Arbeit, denn auch ich bin kein gelernter Programmierer oder "Scripter"/ Webdeveloper.

    Könntest Du mal einen Blick darauf werfen und mir eventuelle Tücken oder Verbesserungsvorschläge aufzeigen? Ja, wie man HTML-nodes erstellen kann habe ich gelesen, aber dann wird der Code noch riesiger.

    Gut zu wissen: Hier ist beschrieben, was das Script machen sollte (+Flussdiagramm). Wenn es die Mediawiki-Software zulässt, kannst Du die Änderungen auch gleich direkt am Code durchführen. Ein paar exemplarische Edits würden mir auch reichen.

    L39: Am besten mw.config.get('wgPageName') verwenden, da diese globalen vars nicht mehr ewig da sind

    L39: Regexps war hier kürzer, aber auch weniger verständlich: user = mw.config.get('wgPageName').match(/.*?\:(.*?)(\/.*)*$/)[1]

    L126: minLength: 1 hinzufügen, dann kann auch der text weg.

    L321: Hier nicht besonders wichtig, aber generell: Wenn du mehre Sachen mit einem DOM object ($('#mdDeleteReason')) machst, dann leg anfangs eine Variable an. Das "Raussuchen" des Objektes aus dem Dokument dauert ein Vielfaches vom Zugreifen auf eine Variable. Spart außerdem ein bisschen platz.

    L521: Ist das um Konflikte zu vermeiden? Mein Tipp (denn ich nicht wirklich beim AjaxQuickDelete angewandt habe): Trenne deine Objekte in Funktionen/Konstante/alles was sich bei unterschiedlichen Aufgaben nicht ändert und die Aufgaben spezifischen Sachen (this.tasks etc) . Die Aufgaben spezifischen Sachen dann nie direkt anfassen sondern immer so was:

    var currentTask = new this.tasks();

    Für mehr info dazu: http://trephine.org/t/index.php?title=Understanding_the_JavaScript_new_keyword

    L599: test() ist der Regel hübscher, da du gleich ein boolean zurückbekommst ( http://www.w3schools.com/jsref/jsref_regexp_test.asp )

    L736: Eval is Evil. tmpRegEx = new RegExp(this.tag, flags) sollte ausreichen.

    Generell: Ab der nächsten Version braucht ein Edittoken nicht mehr über die API angefordert werden, sondern ist bereits in mediawiki.editToken.

    Danke für die großartige, kompetente Hilfe. Ich habe schon ein paar kleine Dinge verbessert; auch einige Deiner Tipps beherzigt. Bei den anderen Sachen muss ich noch überlegen.
    Da das Skript inzwischen Monstermaße annimmt, habe ich auf Load on demand umgestellt. So macht das Serven auf Commons wenigstens noch ein bisschen Spaß:
    So wird's gemacht: In User:DieBuche/common.js bitte
    importScript("User:Rillke/AjaxMassDelete.js");

    mit
    addPortletLink('p-tb', 'javascript:{importScript(\'User:Rillke/AjaxMassDelete.js\'); void(0);}', "Perform batch task", 't-AjaxQuickDeleteOnDemand', null);

    ersetzen.

    Cat-a-lot auf de.wikipedia[edit]

    Hallo DieBuche. Ich wollte für die de.wikipedia das Cat-a-lot-Tool haben. Habs mir auch soweit rüberkopiert. Siehe de:Benutzer:Quedel/monobook-catalot.js (die CSS findet sich unter de:Benutzer:Quedel/monobook-catalot.css. Nun funktioniert es (nach gewissen Eindeutschungen) jedoch nur teilweise.

    • Wenn ich in einem Suchergebnis eine Datei, die bisher keine Kategorie hatte, eine hinzufüge, funktioniert das (Beispiel).
    • Habe ich eine Datei in einer Kategorie und will eine weitere Hinzufügen ("copy") oder sie dorthin verschieben ("move") dann kommt zwar die Meldung, dass das Script erfolgreich ausgeführt wurde, aber die Datei nicht geändert wurde, weil die Ursprungskategorie nicht gefunden wurde.
    • (unwichtig) Der Link auf "Seite aktualisieren" funktioniert nicht (in der Meldung nach dem fertigen Bearbeiten der Dateien).

    Bin leider beim Basteln nicht weitergekommen, worans liegt. Vielleicht hast du ja eine Ahnung, was ich ändern müsste. Herzlichen Dank dir. --Quedel (talk) 17:41, 22 May 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]

    Hi, dir fehlt diese Änderung. Ansonsten funktioniert es nur wenn die Kategorien auf englisch angegeben sind. Am besten auch das hier nachholen. Und "return to page" ist nicht "Seite neuladen", sondern eher "Dialog schließen" o.ä.--DieBuche (talk) 11:24, 25 May 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]

    cat-a-lot improvement/bug-fix request[edit]

    A very useful place to use cat-a-lot would be on uncategoruzed files. Can you change cat-a-lot so that it can add categories to files that are currently marked {{Uncategorized}}. At present it comes up with "The following pages were skipped, because the old category could not be found:" as the category is in a template. It would appear to me that the only reason this happens is that the script tries to insert the new category underneath the 'existing' category, and in this instance there is nothing to replace. Thanks. --Tony Wills (talk) 03:27, 12 June 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]

    •  Comment: She sent me a message here asking for permission for the use of some of my images of native art in the MOA (Museum of Anthropology) in Vancouver on my userpage, etc and I E-mailed her back saying she could use any images she wanted since WikiCommons is free for everyone as long as she gave clear attribution to the author. She gave her E-mail address and seems trustworthy. She replied with a polite thank you. I suggest you E-mail her your question about the link to the image and say what your username here is...and how you would like to be attributed. Carol likely doesn't know Commons procedures at all and doesn't know who you are; she's trying to contact people on their talkpages this way. (PS: I did tell her that image she mentioned was not my image but that it was copyright free as long as she gave attribution to the real author) Best Regards from Metro Vancouver, --Leoboudv (talk) 00:14, 21 June 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]

    I was referring to: http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Italyrome.png ; Sorry about the delay in the reply, I didn't notice you'd posted. Leoboudv is quite correct in his assumptions about my 'commons procedures' knowledge. I am quite worried about copyright infringements, so I tend to over-check with the owners :) I'll be sure to credit your image with your real name. Cat-a-lot and uncategorized files[edit]

    Hi DieBuche, could you please modify MediaWiki:Gadget-Cat-a-lot.js so that it removes {{Uncategorized}} if a category gets added? See MediaWiki:Gadget-HotCat.js for some example code. Multichill (talk) 06:47, 12 July 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]

     Info There are also arguments against this. --Leyo 07:29, 12 July 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]
     OpposeNot a good idea. Cat-a-lot is for mass search and category adding, but consist in no way of a category check. For example, I created Category:Wrought iron gates in the United Kingdom by using search. I found tens of such uncategorised images and added the needed category. But this does not mean that the image is really categorised. Same holds true for images that are collected in a dismbiguation category such as Category:Fenwick; as far as I am concerned, those images are not properly categorised (I converted the cat to a disambiguation cat when I discovered its existence). --Foroa (talk) 07:49, 15 July 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]
    What about {{Uncategorized}}{{Check categories}}? --Leyo 08:57, 15 July 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]
    That'd be ok for me. Foroa?--DieBuche (talk) 10:14, 15 July 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]
    OK I guess. --Foroa (talk) 10:36, 15 July 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]
    Finally got around to do that: [4]

    Hello, thank you for your very usefull script. I would want to adapt it a little to my own needs, like the possibility to also add the "reason" for tagging a file when i'm notifying uploader, providing a reason / comment when i'm tagging a file with a template that has no parameter for that, or listing tagged files and uploaders on a tracking list page.

    I tried to make some changes before asking you your permission to do so, just to check if i had the level in javascript to do it. I copy/pasted AjaxQuickDelete.js 's code into User:Lilyu/QuickDelete.js and made some changes. I also modified it to add the links to my own box ( User:Lilyu/Gadgets.js ) rather than the toolbox. The code i added is sometimes a little wobbly, but i managed to make it work like i wanted .

    I dont know if your script (you're the main author) is published with a free license (it's not specified). May i ask you your permission to use and modify it ? --Lilyu (talk) 00:04, 25 July 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]

    If there are no explicit licenses, assume the script is published under cc-by-sa 3.0 / GFDL like all the text we produce here.
    BTW, it is possible to overwrite or add methods and objects.
    obj.method = function (params) {  }
    obj.property = "value";
    obj = { method1: function () {} }

    -- RE rillke questions? 08:58, 25 July 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]
    Thank you, i didn't knew i could do this. --Lilyu (talk) 16:08, 25 July 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]
    Exactly. Being able to reuse & modify text ( and to an extend code ) is one of the main points of Wikipedia. If you introduce changes, which you think would be useful to others as well, than please ping me, so that I can add them to the main.--DieBuche (talk) 12:32, 25 July 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]
    Ok, thanx
    Scripts are often not published by default with CC-BY-SA 3.0 just because they are hosted on a WP's page : they technically have to be there to be used (WPs host also copyrighted materials, like fair use). So I'm used to ask permission.
    Well, I'm a beginner in javascript, hardly able to just modify a little existent scripts by looking at other scripts and help on Google. I told you the modifications i did, and commented all my code modifications. It's up to you to see if some might be useful enough to be added to original script. --Lilyu (talk) 16:08, 25 July 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]

    New Orleans MediaWiki developers' meetup in October[edit]

    New Orleans Wikimedia Hackathon
    MediaWiki and Wikimedia developers' meetup
    Hi, DieBuche. I'd like to invite you to come to the New Orleans Hackathon 2011. We're getting together folks like you -- template, script, tool, extension, and gadget writers -- to participate, give feedback, test, and hack with us.

    At the event, MediaWiki developers and Wikimedia operations engineers will be working on Wikimedia's gadgets/extensions/tools support, authorization/authentication strategy, dev-ops virtualization, and general training and hacking. And we'll improve and discuss the Wikimedia Labs projects infrastructure and other stuff that makes it easier for anyone to supercharge Wikimedia with awesomeness.

    The event is open to anyone who wants to come and contribute, and is an opportunity to spend time with senior MediaWiki developers & ops engineers, write beautiful code, and learn about the latest developments. We'll write code together, discuss the software, and hold little workshops.

    (You additionally might be interested in the Brighton hackathon this fall.)

    If you can make it to New Orleans, Louisiana, USA, 14-16 October 2011, we'd love to have you. Please add your name to the attendees list. Thanks! Sumanah (talk) 12:47, 30 August 2011 (UTC) (Volunteer Development Coordinator, Wikimedia Foundation)Reply[reply]

    Die Goldene Buche[edit]

    Die Goldene Buche bekommst Du, weil du, wie ich nach und nach erkenne, wie viele Skripte Du auf Commons buchenstark verbessert und neu geschrieben hast. Danke!

    Ich hoffe, dass Du bald wieder ein bisschen Zeit findest, an den Baustellen weiterzuarbeiten.

    Grüße RE rillke questions? 19:25, 30 September 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]

    Ok. Das war nicht gerade minimalistisch.

    Ich hätte auch gleich noch ein Anliegen, da ich die Slideshow ein bisschen verbessert(?) habe:

    2. ✓ Done User:Rillke/Gadget-GallerySlideshow.css prüfen

    5. MediaWiki:Gadget-GallerySlideshow.js l. 16 importStylesheet('User:Rillke/Gadget-GallerySlideshow.css');importStylesheet('MediaWiki:Gadget-GallerySlideshow.css');

    Vielen Dank. -- RE rillke questions? 19:25, 30 September 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]

    So, jetzt bin ich aber wirklich fertig mit dem Rumbasteln. Ich hoffe, dass ich keine BKs ausgelöst habe. Es wäre wirklich toll, wenn Du das erledigen könntest. -- RE rillke questions? 11:15, 5 October 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]
    Ach ja, die Verbesserung umgeht auch die Probleme, die durch $wgMiserMode ausgelöst werden. Versuche mal eine Slideshow für https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Featured_pictures_on_Wikimedia_Commons?withJS=MediaWiki:Gadget-GallerySlideshow.js mit kleinem Bildschirm zu erzeugen... -- RE rillke questions? 17:43, 5 October 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]
    Danke! Die Idee mit dem Vollbildschirm find ich super, Beschreibungen hatte ich auch mal auf der Liste aber nie geschafft. Ich hab noch am Layout gebastelt und ne Menge postion:absolute entfernt, so dass es auch nach dem Ändern der Fenstergröße noch ok aus schaut. Außerdem noch Kleinigkeiten, wie 'ESC' zum schließen, Ausblendung der Scrollleiste, dunklere Hintergrund etc.. Außerdem hab ich den "eject" Knopf durch ein "x" in der oberen Ecke ausgetauscht, ist einfacher zu verstehen, da häufiger benutzt. Ist User:DieBuche/Gadget-GallerySlideshow.js so ok für dich? --DieBuche (talk) 10:27, 10 October 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]
    Ja das sieht wirklich klasse aus.
    1 Problem ist mir aufgefallen: Ich hab's mal mit dem IE 7 getestet. Voher hat die Position gestimmt... evtl. bekommst Du das noch gefixt? Danke noch einmal. Sieht wirklich Meilen besser aus. RE rillke questions? 19:08, 10 October 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]
    Und noch ein Problem: Der IE 6 (jaja, ...) funktioniert gar nicht mehr, weil die Vector-Tabs mittendrin drüber sind. Entweder wieder
    				$('#SlideContainer').animate({
    					height: $(window).height() + 'px' // will be appended to the body and displays as block in IE6
    				});

    Oder gleich ganz von der Kompatibilitätsliste streichen. RE rillke questions? 19:17, 10 October 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]
    Ich habe an meine Kopien aktualisiert und noch ein paar Änderungen vorgenommen:
    • Nun auch für commons-seiten verfügbar (muss noch nachgebessert werden)
    • Kleinigkeiten, wie triggerHandler.
    Wir müssten uns dann einmal absprechen, um nicht aneinander vorbeizuarbeiten. Du kannst gern in der Kopie in meinem BNR herumeditieren. RE rillke questions? 20:11, 10 October 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]
    Mach ich gerne. IE7: Ich glaub es liegt am inline-block, muss ich mal probieren. Den IE6 würde ich streichen. Der "Fix"
    $(window).height() + 'px'
    hat nämlich den Nachteil, dass beim Vergrößern des Fensters die unterliegende Seite wieder hervorkommt. --DieBuche (talk) 10:28, 11 October 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]
    So geht es jetzt zumindest bei mir mit allen getesteten Browsern einigermaßen. inline-block verstehen die alten Dinger vermutlich nicht. Der ie7 zeigt die Elemente inline, ignoriert z.T. width; der IE6 zeigt es als block.
    Den Nachteil habe ich jetzt mit dem jQuery-eventhandler resize gelöst.
    Abgesehen davon: Die Slideshow ist wirklich toll geworden. Besser als das, was Flickr hat. Natürlich gibt es noch andere tolle Dinge, wie Bild als Hintergrund und halbtransparenten Text drüber. Das geht auf Commons ja leider nicht, weil die Bilder so unterschiedliche Formate aufweisen. Ich mache schnell noch ein paar screenshots, damit Du siehst, was ich meine. -- RE rillke questions? 11:06, 11 October 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]
    IE6 IE7 IE 8 -- RE rillke questions? 11:40, 11 October 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]
    und so wird es es ohne die Änderungen im IE6 gerendert.
    Jetzt hast Du freie Hand und ich lasse die Finger davon. Auf ein baldiges Deployment! -- RE rillke questions? 11:51, 11 October 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]

    Wenn wir im Caption-container keine Scrollbar haben, müssen wir aber u.U. den Text kürzen. Wie siehst Du das? -- RE rillke questions? 16:21, 11 October 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]

    Barucht man nicht, das ist das gute an der CSS Angabe word-wrap!--DieBuche (talk) 16:25, 11 October 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]
    Deployment ist jetzt auch geschehen, der IE6 sah ja mehr als gruselig aus vorher...--DieBuche (talk) 16:26, 11 October 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]

    Die CSS sollte noch in den MW-Namensraum und evtl. kann man Resource-Loader benutzen (der entfernt Kommentare und whitespace), um die Slideshow (inklusive css, siehe cat-a-lot) zu laden. Dann kann das importStylesheet auch ganz raus. -- RE rillke questions? 16:50, 11 October 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]

    Delinker[edit]

    Hallo DieBuche, User_talk:CommonsDelinker/commands ist ja regelmäßig/dauerhaft überflutet. Ich sehe du hast bei Special:AbuseFilter/75 herumprobiert um wohl eine ungeschützt Commands-Seite zu machen. Was war dein Ergebnis? Falls ungeschützt nicht so gut ist, dann könnte man vielleicht eine extra-Seite nur für rename-Replacements von filemovern machen (und dies per Abusefilter durchsetzen), dann wäre zumindest der Kreis der User, die vandalieren könnten, stark beschränkt und filemover sind ja schon recht vertraute Communitymitglieder. Würde vielleicht das Checken der Requests für Admins vereinfachen - aber gut, das zu diskutieren ist hier die falsche Stelle. Eigentlich wollte ich nur gern deinen Stand hören. Would you mind if I turn it into a default gadget? This would have the following advantages:

    • Minified code
    • CSS loaded through RL
    • Possibility to add dependencies or to use this as a dependency (so building on top will be easier)

    DieBucheBot[edit]

    Are you still operating this bot? If you are, this is just a heads up to say that I've left a large image there. It's incredibly complex, so I realise it probably won't shrink much, but anything to reduce the chance of Inkscape crashing is excellent. Cheers! I'm not sure which Image you mean. If you want to process just a single image, you can install the scour (the script the bot runs) extension into Inkscape: http://www.codedread.com/scour/#install --DieBuche (talk) 14:35, 21 February 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]

    Gadget definition[edit]

    Hi ! Sorry I just see the action you did few years laters abut [5] I added this gadget because it could be useful for sysop to understand some parts of description in another language on commons. And it could be an held to translate the description. I'm not sure that your argument about "I doubt this is widely used" justify the withdrawal. It could be a real help when it's written in hindi or russian, or exotic langages... Otourly (talk) 16:52, 18 February 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]

    Just if you intend to re-add this, ensure that
    1. it is ResourceLoader compatible (e.g. hookEvent('click', wiktLookup.hide); is deprecated. Update the script using mw:ResourceLoader/JavaScript Deprecations and mw:RL/MGU.
    2. add rights=sysop (mw:Extension:Gadgets#Options) in case it is only useful for sysops
    3. add yourself as the maintainer, or someone else who agrees, to the gadget's code.
    4. you add a warning to all its description that the code is hosted on en.wikinews.org .
    Thanks and Sincerely -- RE rillke questions? 19:25, 19 February 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]

    Could you make a couple modifications to the script:

    1. Allow the same functionality with {{Bad name}}, as it does with {{Duplicate}}.
    2. Provide a link so that the processing admin can decline the duplicate. This would then prompt them for a reason and remove the duplicate template. ✓ Done RE rillke questions? 14:05, 7 March 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]

    If you want to keep your adminship, you need both to sign at the current inactivity run page within 30 days of today's date, and also to make at least five further admin actions in the following six months. Anyone who does not do so will automatically lose administrator rights.
